Cells were grown in alpha MEM Medium (SigmaAldrich, Oakville, ON, Canada) supplemented with 2 mmol/l L-glutamine, 100 U/ml penicillin, 100 mg/ml streptomycin, and 10% fetal bovine serum (SigmaAldrich) at 37°C with 5% CO2 to 70-80% confluence, then harvested and stored at -80°C until RNA and DNA was extracted.
