Summary A continuous gene expression profiling of leaves at regular interval was performed to understand the changes of transcriptional program and physiological state of the rice plant under two different field conditions.
 
Overall design For continuous gene expression profile of leaf, the uppermost fully-expanded leaf in the main stem was sampled at 10:00-12:00 AM at regular intervals of about 7 days encompassing 10 different growth stages during a normal rice growing season.
