Title |
High-throughput RNA sequencing of basilar artery smooth muscle cells in wild type and high-salt diet induced hypertension rats |
Organism |
Rattus norvegicus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
We utilized high-throughput sequencing and subsequent signaling pathway analyses to find 2 fold change or greater upregulated expression of 230 transcripts and downregulated expression of 165 transcripts in basilar artery smooth muscle cells derived from rats fed a high-salt diet compared with those from control rats.

Overall design |
The RNA sample libraries of basilar artery smooth muscle cells in wild type and high-salt diet induced hypertension rats were established and sequenced using the high-throughput Illumina HiSeq 2500 sequencing platform, with a sequencing length of 150 base pairs. Then the RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) Fastq raw data were pruned using Trimmomatic to remove adaptors and lower mass reads. The quality of clean data was assessed using FastQC software, following with GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses, PPI network integration and module analyses.
