Extensive allelic variation on agronomically important genes serves as the basis of breeding in rice. Owing to advances in functional studies on numerous genes, it is now possible in rice to introduce known alleles under rational design for variety improvement. Here we re-sequenced the genomes for a rice population and created a comprehensive map of quantitative trait nucleotide (QTN) for rice.
