Definition

Sarcomatoid (spindle cell) carcinomas of the tongue is a variant of squamous carcinoma of tongue that is monoclonal, having evolved from a conventional squamous carcinoma with dedifferentiation associated with sarcomatoid transformation. [from HPO]
