The Mouse Transcriptome Project

A first draft of the mouse genome was described in Dec. 2002. Improvements continue to be made to this assembly as the process of finishing progresses, with finishing slated for the end of 2005.

The post-genomic era of analyzing the mouse genome has already begun. The focus of this project is the generation of a reference expression database for the C57BL/6J mouse. The current dataset will consist of 90 samples, primarily from adult tissue, and was analyzed using a technique known as Massively Parallel Signature Sequencing (MPSS).
