Acts upstream of or within axonogenesis; branching involved in blood vessel morphogenesis; and detection of light stimulus involved in visual perception. Is integral component of membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human SEMA5A (semaphorin 5A).
