    Enables insulin receptor substrate binding activity and protein kinase C activity. Acts upstream of or within B cell proliferation; immunoglobulin mediated immune response; and positive regulation of apoptotic signaling pathway. Located in several cellular components, including cell-cell junction; cytoplasm; and nuclear matrix. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; early embryo; genitourinary system; and heart and pericardium. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome type 3; fatty liver disease; and hypertension. Orthologous to human PRKCD (protein kinase C delta).
