    Summary
Predicted to enable RNA binding activity; ubiquitin ligase inhibitor activity; and ubiquitin protein ligase binding activity. Predicted to be a structural constituent of ribosome. Predicted to be involved in several processes, including positive regulation of aminoacyl-tRNA ligase activity; regulation of cellular protein metabolic process; and ribosome biogenesis. Located in synapse. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; gonad; intestine; sensory organ; and spleen. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Diamond-Blackfan anemia 6; T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia; and glioblastoma. Orthologous to human RPL5 (ribosomal protein L5). Annotation information
Note: In NCBI's Build 37.2 annotation of the reference assembly, Rpl5, which was represented by GeneID:19983, was incorrectly annotated as an intronless gene on chromosome 7. It has now been determined that Rpl5 is a multi-exon gene on chromosome 5. Therefore, GeneID:19983 has been replaced by GeneID:100503670 to restore the correct chromosome 5 location. The chromosome 7 location represents an Rpl5 pseudogene, which is now represented by GeneID:100043295. [17 Jun 2014]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
