Summary
Enables gamma-aminobutyric acid:proton symporter activity and glycine transmembrane transporter activity. Acts upstream of or within glycine transport. Located in several cellular components, including cone cell pedicle; dendrite terminus; and inhibitory synapse. Is expressed in several structures, including cardiovascular system; eye; genitourinary system; nervous system; and skeleton. Used to study temporal lobe epilepsy. Orthologous to human SLC32A1 (solute carrier family 32 member 1). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
Expression
Biased expression in cerebellum adult (RPKM 56.5), frontal lobe adult (RPKM 42.0) and 5 other tissues See more

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
