Analysis of left atria of mitral regurgitation (MR) males treated with valsartan one week before surgery and then daily after surgery. Valsartan is a type I angiotensin II receptor blocker. Results provide insight into molecular mechanisms underlying atrial myocardial remodeling in MR subjects.
