cd14735: BACK_Kelch (this model, PSSM-Id:269808 is obsolete)
BTB-And-C-terminal-Kelch (BACK) domain of Kelch-like proteins
This domain is found in architectures C-terminal to a BTB domain and N-terminal to a Kelch domain, in Kelch, Ectoderm-neural cortex protein 1 and 2 (Enc1 and Enc2), cytosolic inhibitor of Nrf2 (INrf2), Kainate receptor-interacting protein for GluR6 (KRIP6), the cytoskeletal BTB/Kelch repeat family gigaxonin, diablo, actinfilin, and many other Kelch-like proteins. Together with the BTB domain, BACK may participate in dimerization as well as interactions with other proteins. Particularly, in the kelch-like protein 3 (KLHL3), the BACK domain, together with its N-terminal BTB domain, is involved in interactions with the Cullin3 (Cul3) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, and a role in substrate orientiation in Cul3 binding may be common for the majority of BACK-like domains.
