This domain is found in bacterial, archaeal and eukaryotic proteins. It is predicted to be organized into two N-terminal beta-strands and a C-terminal alpha helix, thus possibly adopting a fold similar to that of the C2H2 zinc finger (pfam00096). SWIM is thought to be a versatile domain that can interact with DNA or proteins in different contexts.
